If you are selling the one of a kind, unique Sign Language calendar at the suggested retail price of $15.00 each, and buying them from Color of Language at the $6.00 non-refundable price, your organization will earn $9.00 on each sale. For each 100 your organization sells, you earn $900 (minus shipping costs of $15 per 50 shipped. Profit = $870.00).  Let's do the math!

HOW CAN I SELL 1200 CALENDARS?
     This year's calendar is designed so that you can sell not only at your school or organizational site, but also to every doctor's office and medical facility in your area, or your student's and parent's area!  Can you mobilize your program, school or organization to get on the band wagon and show a flyer or calendar to their family doctor's staff? Bet they could sell one to every staff person in the office!
     Know someone or can you find someone at the local hospital who would get excited about having such a helpful, fun learning tool on every floor or nurses station in their facility?  What if your student's parents carried flyers to the hospitals and medical facilities they visit in their area? 
     Offering incentives to those committed parents, students and teachers who get involved will increase the chances of them doing a bang up job of getting the word out for you.  We have listed  below some suggestions for incentives and rewards you might offer.

Purchase enough calendars to send home with each student/parent/teacher/member of your school/group.  Flyers are an option, if that is not possible. We provide the flyer template for you to use or you can make your own with images we can provide

YES, IT CAN BE DONE!  With some effort, promotion, and enthusiasm YOU can do it for your school or group.  BUT don't try to do it all alone.  Find a group of committed people and .......

ORGANIZE A COMMITEE AND PROMOTE YOUR FUNDRAISER!

  • Have a "Kick- Off" Assembly at the beginning and an Awards Ceremony at the end to create enthusiasm and increase sales GREATLY. 
         a. At the "Kick-Off Assembly" announce the fundraiser, emphasizing what the funds are for and how it will benefit your school, program, or organization.
         b. Plan prizes for members, individuals, classrooms, grade levels, teachers who sell 5 or more, with the prizes increasing in value for the number sold.
         c. Announce and demonstrate all the incentives and prizes being offered.  Plan skits to increase the fun and excitement.
         d. Set a goal/deadline for the whole school to aim for and put up a display to track the progress. Something simple like a giant thermometer.  Get creative!
         e. Set a weekly time to paint the thermometer to show the progress and announce the leading persons, classrooms, teachers, grade levels, dorms.
         f. Have each classroom, grade level, dorm make/monitor their own progress indicator and display it in their area, updating it daily or weekly.
         g. Go through your local phone book/directory to locate medical facilities in your area.  Assign a committee to make personal contact with a demo calendar or a flyer OR assign certain areas to classrooms, dorms, grade levels, and challenge them to make contact, either in person or by sending flyers to their addresses.
         h.  Encourage students and parents to do the same in their home towns.  Suggest hey check local phonebooks and directories and visit or send flyers to as many as possible.

  • Send a letter home with each student, parent, teacher, member.  Encourage them to:
         a. Purchase the calendar to help the organization/school's fundraising attempts, explaining what the funds are for and how it will benefit the school/organization.
         b. Purchase 5 more for family, friends, or co-workers (they make great Christmas gifts).
         c. Sell 5 more to family, friends and co-workers for them to give as Christmas gifts.
         d. Show the calendar/flyer to their doctors or any medical facilities they visit.

  • Offer incentives to students and parents for their efforts in the fundraiser:
         a. If someone purchases or sells 5 or more, they can keep the one sent home for free.  Pay for 4, get 5, plus...
         b. Ice cream float or sundae for those students who sell/buy 5 or more, or classrooms that sell 25 or more.
         c. Pizza party for those students who sell 10 or more, or for classrooms that sell 50 or more.
         d. Larger prizes for those who sell more than 10, or classrooms that sell 100 or more, such as a field trip or movie.
         e. An outstanding prize for the person and the classroom that sells the most.
         f.  School wide FUN DAY for the whole school
         g.
    Check with local businesses that would love to help out by offering services, trips, free gifts in exchange for the publicity.

  • Offer incentives to teachers for their efforts in the fundraiser:
         a. Offer days off, trips, money for classroom purchases or bonuses to teachers whose classrooms sell above 100 or who have personally sold the most among all the teachers.
         b. Check with local businesses that would love to help out by offering services, trips, free gifts in exchange for the publicity.
  • Set up an area on your Website to advertise the Fundraiser AND display the calendar.  We can provide the images for you. If you have the capabilities to receive donations or process credit cards on your website, direct potential customers to purchase there.
