GAMES FOR SPEECH THERAPY using the Game Cards and Flashcards for COL:
Build vocabulary, practice pronunciation and lipreading skills,  phonological awareness drills, articulation activities and emergent literacy with sequencing, rhyming words, and phonemes
Example of RECEPTIVE GAMES:
Recognize the number of syllables or individual words:

  1. Place two – four cards on the table and ask a student to guess which word the therapist says or how many syllables are pronounced. If the student guesses correctly, they may take the card.  Therapist  then places another card in its place  and repeats the guessing game. Prizes or rewards can be given when the student acquires 10 cards.  If working with more than one student, a prize is given to student with the most cards at the end of the session.   During or after session, write down which cards were the most difficult and need more practice.
  2.  Switch roles and have student(s) say the words while the therapist and/ or other student(s) guess which word is spoken or how many syllables were said.
